What this project is…

Nowadays, almost all materials used in making Japanese musical instruments, such as kouki wood and Padauk, are imported.
We want to make the sound of Japan played by instruments made from native materials.
Enjoy the sound of Japan made from Japanese wood.

 

The native oak in Japan.

We focused on the native oak, which has been growng in Japan from time immemorial.We use it for making the neck.
Please enjoy the soft and rich tone emanating from the oak.

You can choose dou (body) from 2 kinds of wood.

Paulownia has been used since the Yayoi Era.
It adapts easily to the Japanese climate and is used for tansu, furniture and ceremonies.
Among Japanese musical instruments, it is used as a material for koto.
It is characterized by its transparent and gentle sound.

Mulberry is hard and solid and stable.
For this reason, it has been used for alcove pillars and stringed instruments.
The typical instruments that they are used for include Biwa and Mokugyo.
